Konnichiwa! We're wrapping up Golden Week here in Okinawa. This means a number of things... There are brightly colored koi fish streamers everywhere you look, people have a holiday from work and school, and (last, but not least) traffic is horrendous. Yesterday J had duty so I tagged along with some friends and headed up north to Nago. From there we took a ferry to the lily festival on Ie Island. Let me tell you, it was a completely different experience this year! What should have been about an hour long drive took us over triple that. Both ways. We resorted to car games like I spy and 20 questions. Overall it was a fun trip. The company was great and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for a Sunday afternoon (and evening.. and night...) adventure. I snapped a few pictures of those beautiful blooms for you....
