North Carolina... What an adventure things have been already! 20 hours and 1,240 miles. I hit the ground running with interviews and helping with Valentine's Day madness in a flower shop. Today is my first "day off." I'm beginning to really settle in. I'm anxious to show you a glimpse of life so far.
and so much more...

I've been terrible at blogging lately! Lots has happened since I last updated....
Just a few:
-I took a wonderful trip to North Carolina (pictures below)
-I turned 24 :)
-Erin and I made Amos the cutest little baby owl for Halloween
-I've been crafting and brainstorming for Christmas (it'll be here before we know it!)

Hello there! Today I want to share some random pictures. The first one was taken in our backyard and the rest are from my old phone (so please excuse the poor quality). My iPhone came in the mail yesterday and I've been surprised at how fun it's been to get it all set up. Its camera is pretty great. I'm excited at how easy it will make taking and posting pictures!

It's finished! The dresser Mom found on Craigslist last week is officially our new kitchen island. We attached some boards to make the bottom all one level then stained and added feet (to make it just the right height for vegetable chopping). The plan is to get a piece of wood to make the whole top surface a cutting board. It definitely adds some character to the kitchen :)

Today is cool and rainy! I even wore boots and a jacket! Sarah-Kathryn and I spent some sister time in Town Square this afternoon after church. We warmed up with soup from Central Market and got pumpkin spice lattes (as I've decided to take advantage of them this year).

I'm excited to post another project soon. Mom and I went out to Denison yesterday to get a dresser/buffet that we're going to make into an island for the kitchen. The next steps are to clean it up and find some legs to give it some more height. It's going to be cu-ute!

On another note, my grandparents are in Hawaii right now! They're celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this November and are out having an adventure. I wish them the best and can't wait to see some pictures!

One more thing...I've officially pre-ordered my iPhone 4S. I know, I couldn't really believe it myself. Pretty soon I'll be all connected and caught up with the rest of the world. Wish me luck figuring out technology!

Fall

I'm still here! How about a little update... Life has been good and busy lately. Work is going well. Although some days are more challenging than others, the kids never fail to make me laugh.
Last weekend I had a garage sale. It was the first time I'd ever tackled one by myself (hopefully the last). We had the most incredible lightning storm Thursday night that brought in a cool front so the weather was perfect for being outside (and I made some money to boot!).
I'm loving October so far...Erin, Amos and I spent some time in Town Square a couple days ago and I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season. Even though it wasn't quite cool enough to get a hot one, it felt like fall. Since pumpkin spice lattes were nowhere to be found in Germany, I feel like I've been craving one for a year!
One of my favorite parts of October is when my birthday discount from Anthropologie comes in the mail :) I'll admit I've done some browsing... (loving the ascot swing coat and parallels clutch)

cute as a button

like my new bathroom art? i did a piece quite awhile ago with paper...turns out it gets a little bit wilty with time (and showers of course). all these cute buttons end up living in ziplocks or mason jars...i thought it was time to make something of them.
