travels...

We're back! Mom and Sister just arrived safely in Texas. I wanted to share some pictures and stories from our travels. I know I already wrote a bit about bringing in the New Year in Strasbourg, but here are a couople of shots from our time in Heidelberg before that.

The castle looked so beautiful covered in snow!After our quick trip to Heidelberg and a sleepover in my room, we made our way to Strasbourg. Next on the itinerary was Baden-Baden. It's a really beautiful spa town in the Black Forest.

We had lots and lots of practice navigating through train and bus stations...We spent quite some time in the Strasbourg Hauptbahnhof (and encountered some not-so-friendly French people).

In Baden-Baden we bundled up and did some exploring.The pastries looked amazing! We stopped at the fancy schmancy Café König for a piece of Black Forest cake.And last but not least, we enjoyed the "healing waters" of the Caracalla Therme. We stayed in the baths downstairs, where everyone wore swimsuits. It was especially fun to be in the outdoor pool...surrounded by snow but nice and warm in the water!
