So I thought I'd write about my day...I woke up and was ready to take a walk to the market (for a fresh breakfast croissant) when I looked out my window and realized it was windy and raining. Instead I had a very relaxing morning lounging on my sofa with my book. When I went upstairs around noon, I helped vacuum (or "wacuum" as it's called in this house) then got things ready for lunch. When the girls got home from school we ate, Julika did her homework then practiced piano while Tira and I cracked walnuts, then we went to the park. We played tag (after explaining the difference between that and "catch") then made our way back home for some hot chocolate with foam.
At one point this afternoon Tira and I were in the playroom looking through a catalog of children's clothes. She cracked me up as she pointed to each kid (boys included) and said either, "That's me" or "That's my sister." There was one picture of two boys wearing roller blades...she said, "That was I mit (the German word for 'with') my sister skateboard doing." It's taken me some time to understand Tira's unique way of putting things.
After playing horse in the backyard until we couldn't feel our noses anymore, we came inside for our typical dinner of bread, cheese, and cold cuts. Now here I am back in my room for the night, very ready for a hot shower!
